Mark To Play Locarno

Mark To Play Zurich

The start of the Privateering tour is less than two months away, but new dates are still being added to it. Mark has been confirmed as a performer at Zurich’s Live At Sunset festival. He’ll be taking the main stage on Saturday, July 20.

Mark Lawson Talks To Mark Knopfler

In March BBC 4 TV will launch a new series called Mark Lawson Talks To …. and the first show features our own Mark Knopfler. The show is scheduled to air on Sunday the 3rd of March at 8 pm UK time. Visit the BBC website for further info.

Echo Nomination

Mark has been nominated in the ‘Male Pop/Rock International’ category in this year’s German Echo Awards. The awards ceremony will be held in Berlin on the 21st of March.

Mark Featured On New Heidi Talbot Release

Angels Without Wings is the title of Heidi Talbot’s new CD to be released on the18th of February on Navigator Records in the UK and by Compass Records in the USA. Mark plays on two tracks: When The Roses Come Again and The Loneliest. The album also features John McCusker, Guy Fletcher, Richard Bennett, Michael McGoldrick, Tim O’Brien and Jerry Douglas.

Vicente Amigo Presents Tierra

As part of the Celtic Connections Festival, on January the 18th at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall Vicente Amigo presents Tierra his new Flamenco/Celtic project with Guy Fletcher (Keyboards) Mike McGoldrick (Whistle and Uilleann Pipes), John McCusker (Fiddle), Danny Cummings (Drums), Donald Shaw (Accordion) and Ewen Vernal (Bass). Tierra was recorded this year at British Grove studios and will be released on February 19th.
