  1. Can I meet Mark Knopfler?
    • As you can imagine, Mark Knopfler has a very busy schedule. Although he would love to meet with everyone individually, that is just not possible. We hope you understand.
  2. Is Mark Knopfler coming to my town?
    • All of Mark Knopfler's confirmed dates are posted on the Tour page. If you haven't already, you may also want to sign up to the mailing list as most dates and all MarkKnopfler.com presale information will be announced through the newsletter. If you have heard about a date that does not appear in the Tour page, please email us at help@MarkKnopfler.com to see if that date is confirmed.
  3. Can I send Mark Knopfler a gift or letter in the mail?
    • Although you can mail letters to:

      we are unable to guarantee that your letter will reach Mark. And while the kindness and thoughtfulness of those sending gifts are very much appreciated, please don't send Mark any gifts through the mail.
  4. I have written a song for Mark Knopfler. How do I send it to him?
    • We are so glad to hear that Mark has inspired you to write your own songs; please keep up the hard work. However, we can’t accept any unsolicited submissions of written song lyrics or tablature, or any audio files with original songs. Mark doesn’t accept other people’s work as he is a songwriter himself and has never recorded another person’s material, other than doing collaborations/covers for special projects.
  5. Can Mark Knopfler play my private function?
    • Although Mark Knopfler is flattered by requests from the community to play private functions, unfortunately due to the extremely hectic nature of his touring and recording schedule, Mark Knopfler is unable to be booked for private performances.
  6. Can Mark Knopfler dedicate a song or deliver a personal message at a concert?
    • As you can imagine each performance that Mark Knopfler gives is an extremely busy, complicated and unpredictable affair. Because of this, we are simply unable to arrange for song dedications or "shout outs" during a show. We hope that you understand.
  7. Can I request an autograph through MarkKnopfler.com?
    • Unfortunately we have had to stop taking autograph requests as we have a massive backlog. We hope to clear the backlog over the next six months so please check back then to see how we're getting on.

Membership Questions

  1. Why should I sign up for a MarkKnopfler.com membership?
    • A MarkKnopfler.com membership is needed to purchase items from our Store and participate in our presales. Signing up for a membership is quick, easy and doesn't cost a thing! And we always respect our members' privacy. Just visit the Join page to sign up.
  2. I'm signed up for MarkKnopfler.com newsletters. Does that mean I am a member?
    • No. The MarkKnopfler.com mailing list and the MarkKnopfler.com membership list are different lists. You are only signed up as a member if you have filled out the form on the Join page.
  3. How much is a membership?
    • A MarkKnopfler.com membership is free.
  4. How long does my MarkKnopfler.com membership last?
    • There is no expiry on your MarkKnopfler.com membership.
  5. How can I change the email address in my account?
    • To edit your email address, sign in and click on the My Account link located at the top right of the site to reveal a link called "Edit My Account Details ." Click this link and, once on this new page, submit your new email address in place of your old one, along with your password for security reasons.
  6. How do I reset my MarkKnopfler.com password?
    • If you have forgotten or would like to change your MarkKnopfler.com password, please visit the Reset My Password page and submit your email address. You'll then be emailed a link to a page where you can enter in a new password. This link is time sensitive so please be sure to reset your password within a few hours of submitting your request.

  7. I can't log into my account. Why?
    • There are several possible reasons that you may not be able to sign into your MarkKnopfler.com member account. First, check that you have entered all your information in correctly. Second, make sure that you're signed up for an MarkKnopfler.com member account (the MarkKnopfler.com mailing list and the membership list are different). If you can't remember if you've signed up for a member account, please visit the Reset My Password page and request a password reset email. If you are told that no account is associated with your email address, please visit the Join page to create an account.
  8. My account has been terminated. Why?
    • MarkKnopfler.com may terminate your account or your use of MarkKnopfler.com at anytime. You are personally liable for any orders that you place or charges that you incur prior to termination. MarkKnopfler.com reserves the right to change, suspend or discontinue all or any aspects of the site at any time without prior notice.
