To quote Guy Fletcher, Mark was pointing out "some jerk who was repeatedly videoing after being warned. Please don't do it." This seems to be the strongest indication yet just how annoyed the band feel about people ignoring the no video recording policy. If this continues to be a problem I can easily see that it will not be too long before all recording and photography is banned from the gigs.

michalstanko:Hello everyone :) I was at Mark's show in Prague yesterday. It was beautiful, as always. I shot some video so you can all see how great the concert was :) Check it out at YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sl9cnjm4ObQ
Why did you do that? It is clearly said on this very page: "There are increasing numbers of fans filming the show. Everybody should
be able to enjoy the concert without interference from others. It is
beginning to get too distracting for the band and irritating too many
people in the audience." Mark was pointing out some guy who was filming. Is this what we want on a concert? To get Mark and other band members upset? It is too distracting for the band, they said it. SO, WHY CAN'T YOU RESPECT THAT? A lot of us will attend the show sooner or later or wait for the official DVD (I hope) so there is no reason for filming on concerts just to show it to rest of us, we'll get our chance.

OK, I'm sorry if I offended anyone. I did it because I love Mark's music and I can't get enough of it. But I made extra sure not to prevent anyone else there from enjoying the show - I was seated, there were no people behind me, just a wall...and I had the cam on my knee and it wasn't shining any light at all, as I covered the little LCD viewer, so people sitting next to me barely knew I was filming. And I bought the smallest cam on the market to shoot this. I know that people shooting videos at shows can be offending. I assure you I did not offend anyone...well, at least not at the show on Sunday evening. But I still believe that Mark's fans appreciate that they can see this footage. At least I would. I understand the reasons behind this new policy and also understand your point, but I assure anyone who may be reading this, that I made extra sure to allow everyone around me to fully enjoy the show. Thank you.

Ok, I believe you, I know you meant no harm, but rules are for everyone, and as long as there are persons like the guy Mark was pointing to, these kind of rules must be made. My post wasn't appointed just to you, I was telling that to all "fans" who are planning to film shows despite of this recording policy. I'm glad you enjoyed the show in Prague.

Hi michalstanko Thanks for your post where you try to explain why you made that little video from the show. Well, you made a mistake. But please don't listen to those members who wrote bad things about you. I'm sure that you are a nice person and you haven't killed anybody. You know, some people never make mistakes in their own opinion. But they are always there to judge other people. Thats what happened here and I don't like it at all. No one needs to be accused here. Let the security guys do their job instead. I'm maybe a bad person too because I like to see videos on you tube with Mark and his great band. And I know for sure that many other members enjoy it too. But off course we must respect the rules without any discussion. Use your video camera on your summer vacation instead please. Have a lovely summer michalstanko. PS : I just read that Marija accepted your explanation.................lucky you.

Hello michalstanko Thank you for the links to the beautiful pictures and I'm sorry you had criticism about your video, but even those people, I'm sure, will enjoy seeing the available videos and clips, they are not going to ignore them - even Marija had a look! I'm glad you enjoyed the show. I do, however, understand why the ban has become necessary, but I really deplore the violence of some security personnel - that is completely out of order!

Hi michalstanko Many thanks for the links to the press photos. And I am really glad that Mark was not pointing at you (lol). If everyone who wanted to film at a concert was as considerate as you were then I'm sure there wouldn't be a problem and Mark and his management would not have felt it necessary to revise their filming policy. Unfortunately this is not the case and obviously some things happened in the early concerts to make Mark decide to ban video recording at his concerts and from Guy's comments in his tour diary it seems as though the band are becoming more keen that the policy is enforced. I imagine all of the problems have been caused by people at the front of the halls, but it is probably not practical just to ban video recorders from the first 20 rows, so everyone has to suffer. Even with the ban, I'm sure people will continue to film. Hopefully though they will all be keen to keep a low profile and not to upset anyone else, so that they don't get spotted by security or from the stage!

Thanks for these videos very very much!! I was at the concert and it was soo great !! It is very nice to see it again... Marija: Sorry, I think that Mark banned videocameras because maybe every second or third person was filming and THIS was bad for both audience and band members incl. Mark. But, if somebody from VIP (or another "sitting" section) films the show (he doesn´t annoy audience or artists) and then the person shares videos on YouTube or even if the person makes DVD, then it is good fan for me. Every concert is different, setlists are not different, but the venue, feeling, arrangments....and it is great to have a chance to see the concert again... ! Sharing is what we must do, if we do not want to still just listen to original versions and if we want to have some bootlegs!! And, by the way, who said that there will be official DVD?? It would be great, but...who knows??

I wasn't going to reply to this post because I hate when things get personal like they have in this Thread... but... I feel I have to weigh in on this as it seems some here do not understand the issue. The new recording policy does not state that it is acceptable for "fans" to film the show as long as they are discreet (as it seems the original poster of this Thread was. Kudos to you for being so thoughtful while blatantly ignoring the band's request to NOT do what you were doing!). It does not state that one can use a video camera as long as they buy a small one, hide it in their lap and cover the monitor light so others are not disturbed. It does not state that filming is acceptable as long as you post it on YouTube in the name of "fans everywhere." It does not state that you can film the show as long as you consider yourself a "long time fan of Mark's music." It does not state that certain fans are allowed to violate this policy while others must obey. The Official Recording Policy states that "cameras/equipment used for recording moving pictures (DVD/video/cine, etc), e.g video/DVD/film cameras, will not be permitted in any part of the venue." (Emphasis added). Now, what part of that statement is unclear? How can ANYONE justify violating this policy and still call themselves a true fan? I for one refuse to watch one single video that was obtained in violation of the policy. I have not seen one single minute of any of the concerts, and I will not do so in the future, until I attend the show in person. I do this BECAUSE I am a fan and part of being a fan involves respecting the artist's wishes. It also involves NOT being selfish. You can claim all you want that you violated the policy in the name of sharing this great show with other fans... but in an honest moment, how can you not see the hypocrisy of it? You filmed the show because YOU wanted to have a recorded memory of it. And you don't care one bit that in doing so, you are spitting in Mark's face. Mark my words... if this kind of selfish behaviour continues, the band will surely ban ALL forms of cameras inside the venues... still cameras included. To call yourself a fan and to ignore the requests of the artist to whom you claim your loyalty is quite silly in my opinion. Peace.
"Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies. I will be hoping that this letter finds you... and finds you well."

For a while, I was afraid that no one else shares opinion on this one with me. Thank you, BPDNEDCID, for involving. I like the way you put things out and I agree with you. I also didn't want to watch this disputed video but I did it after I read how carefully it was filmed. I had to if I wanted to comment it. No one said that there will be official DVD, I said that I hope for it, but who knows. Although, I can't see why not.
