Outstanding concert! I was a bit concerned about being outdoors but the sound was fantastic...could not have been better. Song selection was most of my all-time favorites. Kudos to Mark and the band.

Yes.  This could possibly have been my favorite concert I have attended at Britt.  Years ago I saw Indigo Girls there (also very good).  They covered Romeo and Juliet then and I remember thinking what a great spot it would have been to see Mark Knopfler do it.  To my delight he played it at his concert.  His opening act Jessica Hoop was very good too.

Mark was everything I hoped he would be.  The play list not only sat well with me but also introduced me to some material that makes me want to go out and buy CDs of his I haven't yet bought.

I think the sound was pretty good.  I almost feel like I am being too picky when I say this but I found myself wishing I could hear his vocals a little better.  Only because I was so into the songs I hadn't heard before and I couldn't quite make out the  storyline.  That's why I am here today.  The one that got my interest up was Marble Town.

I was there in the heat and smoke, from California, with my wife. She is a classical musician and didn't have great expectations because she thought that I may have overrated Mark Knopfler's extraordinary guitar playing skills and his fabulous song writing. She was thoroughly impressed! I had to say the words to her on most of the songs because it is not easy pick up them up clearly. We even have that problem on our CD's. I believe I have all of them except the one he did with Chet Atkins. The great thing on the CD's you buy is that you will get the words for all the songs. Marbletown, which was from the CD Ragpicker's Dream, is below >>>>>>>>> If you are serious about buying a Mark Knopfler CD get his lates two set CD called "Private Investigations - The Best of Dire Straits". You really should get Neck & Neck--his CD with Chet Atkins--it has some great stuff on it. My two favorites are "There'll Be Some Changes Made" and "The Next Time I'm In Town".
