Going to the concert at Berkeley: possibility of Mark's autograph?

As I mentioned in another post too, I am a huge Dire Straits/Mark Knopfler fan. DS/MK and 70s-era Floyd pretty much define the music for me and that is what I listen to. I've had the good fortune to see Mark in concert in 2005. (And in 2007 I managed to attend a Roger Waters concert which was as close to a PF show I'll ever get too.)

Luckily, I am again attending Mark's concert this weekend at Berkeley. I don't know if I'll ever get a chance to see Mark again, as by next year in all probability I'll be shifting to a place which is usually not on his tour itinerary - and then it becomes a game of chance, of being at the right place at the right time. :(

So I was wondering if there's a possibility of getting Mark's autograph - it will be a dream come true for me and something I'll always cherish. Many times I've seen that bands come early in the day for a sound check and that usually is a good opportunity for die-hard fans to get a CD or pickguard autographed! Any idea if that happens with MK and his current band?

I am ready to camp near the Greek Theatre entire day Saturday, if there's an iota of possibility of meeting Mark. :)

Would really appreciate any advice from the fellow MK fans...

    Cheers,
    RB

sorry i am lat on the topic but for the futur definatly dont wait the whole day i have been to alot of concerts and the musicians dont showw up until like 45 minouts befor the show. =D

when i meat eric johnson at the war theater in sf he walked down from his hotel with his gig bag. out of all the musicians i have meet eric is one of the nicest guys durring the show (it was a standing show we were up front) he bent down and handed me his pick ya that nice =0

the best way to meet a musician is either to know the right people or some times after a show if you wait for an hour (cause they might be talking to family or friends) they usually come out to great the 2 or 3 people waiting behind were the tour buses are

i have not meet any one at the greek theater but your best chances for the future is just wait of to the side were either the buses are or where you think he might come out you kinda have to gues and hope for the best

its always harder in a bigger stadium the smaller the concert the easyier it is to get close

if you look at my other posts i mention a guy named doug harman he has a few strings to pull and a doubt it but he might like 5/100 chance to get mark to come to a school called marin school of the arts in novato,ca. eric jhonson is coming next year to put on a show and .......etc

    any way

good luck in ur future concerts

I'm not sure where Mark comes in/out of the Greek (seen him there 3 times now).  It's not the easiest place to drive to so maybe he hangs out backstage until the traffic has cleared.

When I saw Mark at the Berkeley Community Theatre (not the greek) in 2001 I waited around outside of the stage door for about an hour and Mark was finally led out into a waiting van.   He was mobbed at his van window by a bunch a "Rudigers" and I decided against asking for an autograph myself.
