Well in all honesty my humble opinon on the this is the DVD that comes with the album explains alot of how, when and why about the lyrics and to be honest i probably wouldt not have "got" half of them if MK didn`t give the background.

Typical from Mark: he writes the lyrics and it's up to you to find out exactly what it is about: it might be a neglected jazz band, the creator of fast food restaurants or about his childhood in an amusement park. But when you eventually find out it all clicks together and you realize how everything makes sense :)

    Still gotta watch that DVD!

So true Blue!    Thats what I enjoy the most about MK's music....sitting back and listening to Mark paint the story for me using all the tools at his disposal. Watching the story unfold before your "mind's eye" is half.....no....most of the fun! If the scene that played out in front of you matches Mark's thoughts in writing the song.. its a bonus. Either way, you  still feel fortunate to have been entertained by one of the premier lyrical artists of our time.

    HEY

TO EACH THIER OWN BUT COME ON.

BEING SOMEWHAT OF A NEW MK FAN (UP UNTIL I RECENTLY PURCHASED KTGC) I HAD ONLY LISTENED TO HIS SHANGRI-LA CD AND LOOKING FORWARD TO GAINING HIS OTHERS,...

KTGC WAS DEFFINATELY A STRAY FROM PREVIOUS WORK AND I ADMIT AT FIRST I SORTA FELT THE SAME WAY AS YOU, BUT THE MORE I LISTEN THE MORE I LOVE IT! COME ON YOU CANT HONESTLY EXPECT THE MAN TO BE UPBEAT AND ROCKIN ALL THE TIME. I FOUND THIS CD REMARKABLE AS IT HAS HELPED ME GET THROUGH A VERY FAST PACE AND FREAKY STRESSFULL TIME IN MY SHORT 22YRS. IM UNDERSTANDING THAT IF A PERSON HASNT BEEN THROUGH ENOUGH BS ON THIS, NOT ANYMORE SO WONDEROUS WORLD, THAT THEY WOULD FALL SHORT OF APPRECIETNG THIS CD. BUT FOR THOSE OF US WHO WHEN WE STOP SPINNING AND NEED TO SLOW THE WORLD DOWN A BIT KTGC CAN DEFFINATELY DO THAT.

    HAND UP TO YOU MK,

    KEEP ON KEEPIN ON

    LACY

You have no idea how refreshing it is for us old farts to see a 22 year-old NEW fan of Mark's Lacy!  Hopefully word of how good KTGC will spread and boost his sales numbers. I'm anxiously awaiting tour announcements for  U.S. dates. I've only seen MK once...on the "On every street" tour in 1991. I missed out on a chance to see DS in a BAR on their first U.S. tour in 1978 and I still kick myself in the butt daily for that one!

    Re: Kill to get crimson

I really like Mark's style... And I like this album...

There must be some songs you enjoy?!?!

"The birds up on the wires and the telegraph poles
They can always fly away from this rain and this cold
You can hear them singing out their telegraph code
All the way down the telegraph road"

"My darling boy, all of my sunshine and all of my joy"

    Hi hophead Cool,

another old fart totally agrees with you. Lacy talks a great deal of sense. very, very refreshing for one of such tender years.
