Wonderful! I have been patiently awaiting this since the end of the Shangri-la tour! I've been especially excited since seeing Guy's diary on it. I'm sure it will be wonderful. His stuff always is!

I have to say that this news is amazing for me. I am a big fan from Argentina, and I hope you can repeat a gig here. Fantastic, Fantastic! Roll on with the tour plans! We can't wait to hear all these new songs live. Hay on Wye was a wonderful experience, hearing Mark speak about his roots and influences as well as hearing him play. Track 6 - the Secondary Waltz - is quite a story. Please come and visit us in Orlando, FL. There are so many of us Brits living here, a great place to perform also. Steely Dan will have to share the title of classiest of the classic rock musicians with Mark.

I hope he crafted this new batch of songs with the same perfection as the rest of his catalogue of compositions. His is more than just music - it is literate and inspired. The content is mature and moving and forever listenable.

How about the ultimate collaborative supergroup of true musicians: Knopfler, Hornsby, Sting, Henley and Jackson Browne. Talk about the Wilburys of songwriting and style...Is anyone reading this able to assemble these stellar musicians to write and record together? Imagine the results. Someone needs to make this happen.

Wonderful. As it is, my birthday is in September, and what a beautiful gift that album will be. Thank you, Mark. But my birthday would not be quite complete without Mark stopping in the Elkhart/South Bend area (Indiana) for a special concert in honor of my birthday. I mean, come on - I'll be 45 years old and Mark hasn't gotten me a single thing yet. I figure him giving a special concert in Elkhart, maybe an outdoor performance on "Island Park", would be the least he could do to make up for all these years he's never done anything for me on my birthday.

Anyway, getting serious: I would like to know why Mark titled the album, "Kill to Get Crimson", and why he chose the scooter/moped artwork for the album (aside from the fact it's nice art, and it's crimson). Mind you, I plan to buy the album, but I'd prefer not to wait until then to set my mind at ease, as I can be a great worrier and obsessor over trivia. Besides, news about Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and Britney Spears is getting a bit slow. :)

Just heard 1.30 of 'The Scaffolder’s Wife' - I LOVE IT! the lyrics are amazing and the use of the flute in the chorus is just lovely!!

I hope it is better than the Shangri-la nonsense.
Mark's claim to fame is his extraordinary guitar playing coupled with great writing. He needs to put the fire back in his playing. Just me, but I can't even listen to S. la without falling asleep

I, too, would appreciate a bit more "fire" in his playing. I enjoyed "Shangri-la", but it wasn't my favorite of his albums. Songs more along the lines of "Water of Love", "Golden Heart", "Darling Pretty", "Speedway at Nazareth", "Hill Farmer's Blues", and the like would be more up my alley.

The latest sample I've heard is 'Heart Full of Holes' (1.29secs sample) I LOVE it - one of my favourites from this album so far - I can't wait for the release now - never doubt MK...ever...he always knows best!

Mark is probably the last person who wants comments on his upcoming album, but I just want to say what a great influence Mark Knopfler is, with his music, his attitude and his 'nice guy' demeanour. Thank you for all you have done, and we hope and pray you will continue in teh same vein for a long time to come. From Mumbai, India (hope you make it here again, last time was brilliant)!

Mark, just read an article on a weekly italian magazine....I'll buy it for sure....just a curiosity...on the article you are showed with a red Vespa, beg of 60's model...the sketches on the cover is a Lambretta, model LI type 1, end of 50's....you may have ome enemy now ! Smile.

I'm a learning player and Mark has been a great source of inspiration for ages. Got most albums and I have not been dissapointed yet. I am sure this one will pour out his tallent and skills.

it´s a great news that a new cd it´s coming soon...i can´t wait to listen it.
I´m from argentina and 6 years ago i´d have the satisfaction to listen to him playing alive so i´m waitting to see him again...i hope he´s coming back to play here with this new tour.
i´m 30 years old and i listen to his music before my brother since i was 5 yers old.
and i love his music and his way to play guitar...hi´s fantastique...
so i hope to see him again so soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oooooohhh, Mark is gonna to play in Sazka Arena, Prague, Czech Republic 11th May 2008...sooo great!!! This hall has a capacity up to 18,000
people! Hope you will make some big promotion to sell it out!!
