More European Dates Announced

Wednesday - 2nd September 2009

Dates for Mark's Get Lucky tour are firming up and we're happy to announce the next set of confirmed shows. MarkKnopfler.com will be having a members-only best seats ticket presale for several UK dates, as well as for appearances in Luxembourg, Czech Republic, the Netherlands and Portugal. If you aren't already a member, it costs nothing to join and we always respect your privacy. Sign into your account just before the start of the presale for your chance at the best seats in the house.

Some important things to note. There is a limit of four (4) tickets per order on all presales for the Get Lucky Tour. Also, tickets for all shows will be available for pickup at the venue's box office on the night of the show only. This will help curtail any of these tickets ending up on the inflated secondary ticket market. We're doing everything we can to ensure a smooth process for you on the night of the show.

Over the course of the next month we'll continue to announce other dates in Europe and North America, so stay tuned. You can also check the Tour page for regular updates.

OOOOOHHHHH!  I am so excited, I feel sick! It's going to be a LONG winter!

Great idea about the pre-sale tickets.  Just hope that we won't end up queueing for ages when we collect the tickets - but I guess at least it will give us MK devotees a chance to get to know each other while we wait!

There are lots of MK fans here in the Houston area who would not only "kill to get crimson" but also want to "get lucky" with having Mr. K play here on his next US tour.  Please let him know we'd gladly give him a warm Texas welcome!

i am in the same position i have a maestro card which is not currently accepted in the store   the only other option is to borrow a card but then would be unable to collect from box office as you need original credit card and identity whith same name and photo  a bit unfair for  all the people in the same position as me

I've already ordered the new album and now I see the announcement that there will be a few concerts in 2010.

My question is:
MK performs in Holland / The Netherlands at the 28th of June 2010. Now there is a presale which started today, the 4th of September 2009.
Is it also possible to buy tickets in Holland / The Netherlands by a ticketline ?
Do you know when (which date) we can buy tickets then ?

Or is it just as said:
"tickets for all shows will be available for pickup at the venue's box office on the night of the show only" ?

How do you know that the show will be sold out then ? And do you think there won't be any problems at the venue's box office as for example long queue, how many tickets per person etcetera ?

Please send me an answer !

Not sure that Metro Arena is the best venue in Newcastle.Acoustics more like a warehouse, but numbers will be good!!
Intimate gig at Sage HAll 1 for 1800/2000 would be the best for sound.
Anyway cant wait. Top Man MK

Rob,
This is a presale just for the fans of MK. The concert for MK in Amsterdam will go on sale true Livenation i think next week. The date is already on my personal page of livenation. You have to be a member of livenation to see this. Just wait for the official announcement on internet/newspaper and than you will know when and how to get your tickets. I also think MK will do more concerts in Holland. Perhaps one more in Amsterdam/\Rotterdam... Just wait a few days....

If "The Powers That Be" are reading these comments...here's a strong request to consider doing a show at a new venue here in Durham, NC (USA). The Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC) is a brand-new venue--only a year old--and many of the artists who've played it have commented on how much they love it. The acoustics are great, the facility is beautiful and well-run, and the crowds have been very appreciative. If Mark remembers his show in Charlotte, NC last year (or was it early this year?), this is a very similar venue but in MUCH better condition and (I think) has a slightly higher capacity.

PLEASE come to Durham, Mark!

Apologies I posted this to the wrong page last night.
Can somebody please explain the MANCHESTER situation. I was expecting an email advance notification of the presale. The Sept 4 start date caught me between visits to the site in a couple of days.
Idon't know now if the Manchester gig got sold out day one or there is some hitch.Either way, it stands out like a sore thumb at the moment, with details only.

Just tried to buy three tickets for Manchester - told me they were in my basket and asked me to enter credit card details but no indication of which seats I had been allocated. Is this par for the course or is it dodgy?

Mike, this is totally normal. You will get an email in about two weeks time letting you know where your seats are allocated and believe me they are gonna be good ones!! I booked seats via MK.COM for the Brighton show and the seats were fantastic, I have now booked seats for my hometown of Bournemouth and also The RAH 5 days later!!

Enjoy.....

we used the presale for the 2008 tour & had wonderful seats. MK has a history of looking after his fans from the Dire Straits Information Service days until now - you will always get great seats. Thanks to everyone involved in making this happen & for stopping the best seats falling into the hands of the touts who make a fortune selling them on at vastly inflated prices.

I had same problem about Manchester - no email notiifcation. I have had pre sale tickets before and seats where excellent, so can you confirm we will be advised of seat allocations. I realise we have to pick tickets up and thats a good thing, I hate to see tickets being sold by touts and not getting to the real fans . Pete
