When I understand this correctly, we all should wait for the general sale of the tickets to get the code for pre-ordering the album. And, get the chance to win for the showcase. When we order now via pre-sale we can't win a ticket for the showcase! This is weird - sorry, but true!

It's not very clear. Do I have to purchase the album through Markknopfler.com to make any chance to win a ticket to attend the gig of 26th 2007?
Cause I already ordered the deluxe CD at my brothers cd-store.  :/
Or does one make a chance also with only the code of the ticket for the gigs next year?

We already ordered our tickets here and we already ordered the album in ALL possible versions. And payed in advance!

Should we do that again and pay double, only to get a (minor) chance to win a ticket for the Showcase in Amsterdam?
Happy to have a ticket for Berlin (thank you, you know who), as it seems to be fairly impossible to get one for the showcase in my home country.

So if I understand correctly, I'd have to order the tickets trought Ticketservice, sales start at Sept. 8th. I just preordered my tickets trought this site so I probably don't recieve the secret code etcetera. Seems kind of weird to me. Why not give everybody an even chance like the showcase in Berlin. It's obvious to me that everybody attending the intimate concert will buy the album anyway.

No we ordered at the presale, the tickets will be send by ordinary mail in 3 weeks. So the Showcase will have taken place before we can try to make a chance. Even if we are willing to buy an extra copy of the CD which a lot of us already ordered (at this site, at your local shop or whatever)!
This is really ridiculous. The real fans already organized their tickets and their CD, so it will be the same as last year with the Meet& Greet. I talked to a man who won the M&G but he wasn't even a fan. I did like the music he said but didn't have a lot of CD's of DS or MK, nor did he ever attend a concert of DS/MK. The real fans who want to travel all over the world to join a gig have no chance.

Sure, Mercury wants to generate NEW customers - they don't care about fans, because the fans buy anyway.
It's Money that Matters...

Don't mistake me: This is about the LABEL, I am aware that the artist and his management have no influence on this. Unfortunately.

Meet&Greet ??? Didn't even know I could attend these. Must have been a friend to friend kind of thing. Hope that it will be better organised this time and that indeed the real fans get a chance to get there. Some of us real fans travel all over the world to see MK.

When you buy a ticket through ticketmaster, it's very unclear what the ticket number is. The example given on the site is only helpfull when you buy the ticket at the post-office, which I couldn't do, since I'm on vacation. Still wanting to make a chance asap, I apparently filled in the wrong number. Really unclear action! All biggest fans won't get a chance!!

Bought tickets through ticketmaster and printed them at home, but you can't tell what the ticket number is you're supposed to fill in since design is different from the example.  I've asked Universal- will post their reply here (if I get one).

If you read the forum you see there is a kind of solution. People who bought a ticket and a CD at the presale will be in the lottery as well. People who bought only tickets will receive a code. I bought 18 tickets, will I receive 18 codes? And then I have to buy a CD at markknopfler.nl
Why should I buy another one? I am already listening to the CD from yesterdaymorning, I have bought both versions, so I don't need more copies!
It still sucks!

-Bought a Ticket for both shows in the presale!
-Bought a CD in the presale!
-Bought a Ticket for Amsterdam through Ticketservice and ordered a CD with the special code.
-Bought a Ticket for Rotterdam through Ticketservice and ordered another CD with the special code.

That's 3 CD's and 4 tickets I now have. Having seen Dire Straits as early as 1983 and every tour thereafter (various shows abroad as well) I consider myself a real fan.

How much more do I need to spend to get a ticket for the secret gig?
